Does Google refund invalid clicks automatically?

Yes. Google filters clicks it classifies as invalid and issues automatic credits where an invalid click was already charged. There is no form to file and no claim process for these credits. They appear on the following month's invoice as a line item rather than arriving as a cash refund, which is why plenty of advertisers have never noticed them at all.
