Google Ads click fraud protection

# Block click fraud before it drains your Google Ads budget.

BlockClickFraud watches every paid click on your site, spots the bots and repeat clickers, and adds them to your Google Ads IP exclusions so your ads stop showing to them.

The problem

## Some of your clicks were never going to be customers.

Bots, click farms and people who hit the same ad again and again cost exactly what a real lead costs. Google credits back some of it. It does not tell you which clicks, and it never stops the source from coming back.

#### ✕Budget gone before lunch

Repeat clicks from the same few sources burn through the daily budget before real searchers ever see your ad.

#### ✕Data you cannot trust

Fake sessions drag down conversion rates and make keywords that actually work look like losers.

#### ✕Smart Bidding learns the wrong lesson

Automated bidding optimises toward whatever it is fed. Feed it junk clicks and it goes looking for more of them.

How it works

## Watch. Decide. Block.

The part that saves money is keeping your ad from being shown to a bad source at all. Blocking a visitor after the click is already billed saves nothing.

1

#### Watch

A lightweight script on your site records what happens after each paid click: how long the visit lasted, what the visitor did, the device and network, and how often that visitor has been back.

2

#### Decide

Each visit is checked against the rest of your traffic and the known signs of automated and repeat clicking. Ordinary customers are left alone.

3

#### Block

Flagged IP addresses are written into your Google Ads IP exclusion list through the API, so your ads stop showing to them. No copying lists by hand.

Straight talk

## What it can do, and what nothing can.

Every tool in this category runs into the same walls. We would rather you hear about them from us.

#### What it does

- Blocks repeat bad sources on campaigns that accept IP exclusions, such as Search

- Manages the 500-address limit per campaign so the list stays useful

- Shows you what was flagged and why, in terms you can check against Google Ads

- Works alongside Google's own invalid click credits

- Monitors Microsoft Ads clicks too, and hands you a paste-ready block list for Microsoft's IP exclusions

#### What nothing can do

- Stop the very first click from a brand new source

- Pin down one determined person who changes address every visit

Who it is for

## Built for expensive clicks.

The higher your cost per click, the more every fake one costs. Law firms, home services, insurance and medical practices feel it first.

Legal

#### Law firms

Few verticals pay more per click, and few attract more deliberate clicking.

Straight answers

## Questions people ask first.

#### What does it mean to block click fraud in Google Ads?

Google has no button to ban a person. What it does allow is excluding an IP address from a campaign so your ads never show to it. Blocking click fraud means finding the addresses that deserve that, and adding them for you automatically.

#### Doesn't Google already refund invalid clicks?

Some of them, automatically, with no detail on what was caught. The credit arrives after you paid, and the source is free to keep clicking. Here is [what Google's invalid click refunds cover](/google-invalid-click-refunds/).

#### Could it block real customers?

It is designed not to, and you can check. Watch cost per conversion rather than click counts: if leads fall with clicks, something is wrong. It also leaves alone the [good bots you must never block](/good-bots-never-block/).

#### Does it work with Performance Max?

It can see paid visits that reach your site from any campaign, which gives you a record and evidence for a refund claim. It blocks there too: Google applies account-level IP exclusions to every campaign, Performance Max included, and Block Click Fraud writes to that list.
